BRIEFING ON CULTURAL IDENTITY ORIENTATION (INDIVIDUALISTIC | COMMUNAL)

Introduction
For the past year two years my primary research focus has been cultural awareness and cultural competency as a key ingredient in achieving effective "change management” processes and successful personal/organizational/social transformation outcomes. I have been using an adaptive design approach based on a "dropping the losers" (inferior treatment groups) model that employs a mixed methods design (qualitative and quantitative techniques). I have been executing a qualitative analysis strategy to gain insights about the definition of, development of, and impact of culture. This strategy uses context and content analysis techniques to identify and label key concepts in the data, structure those concepts into themes, and encode those themes into frameworks (integrated conceptual models) and survey and assessment instruments. The qualitative “data" to-date has been sourced from literature reviews and informal interviews. I have also been designing and prototyping survey and assessment instruments regarding cultural factors in preparation for executing a quantitative analysis strategy. The quantitative analysis strategy will use clustering and classification techniques to identify predictive factors within case data datasets that have been generated from empirical interventions where the frameworks (integrated conceptual models) and survey and assessment instruments have been used.
