The importance of Humanistic Business Management

 

On October 24th – 26th,  the International Humanistic Management Association Conference will bring together leaders from Seattle and around the world. They are meeting to share best practices, disseminate information, discuss theoretical and practical applications and create meaningful output. The speakers range from practitioners, scholars and policymakers to discuss the conference’s core theme: “Build Resilience in a changing world” and include the former first lady of Oregon and CEOs of major corporations. 

 

Humanistic Business Management balances the needs of the people who work for the business with the people who benefit from the business and the people who are impacted by the business. It’s about ensuring the long-term impact of the company is net positive for everyone.

 

The main organizer of the conference is Pauline McCharles. Pauline is a a lifelong social Entrepreneur with an MA in Organizational Development and founding member of the USA Chapter of the International Humanistic Management Association. She organized this conference to introduce Seattle business leaders to the concepts of Humanistic Business Management and because, as she says, “We, as a global community, need to better explore our perception of dignity, decision making  and wellbeing to create resilience in our workplaces and in our changing world.”
